School Curriculum

The National Curriculum forms the basis of our curriculum planning from Y1 to Y6.

It consists of:

Core Subjects

• English
• Mathematics
• Science

and Foundation Subjects

• History
• Geography
• Information Communication Technology [ICT]
• Design Technology [DT]
• Music
• Art
• Physical Education [PE]
• Personal, Social and Health Education [PSHE]
• All schools also teach Religious Education

Time spent on teaching the curriculum during a normal school week: -

• Key Stage 1 [Age 5-7 yrs] 21 hours 10 minutes
• Key Stage 2 [Age 8- 11 yrs] 23 hours 30 minutes

N.B. The timings given do not include daily collective worship, Parents Assemblies, registration, lunch and English
