About our school -
Gisburn Road Community Primary School is a happy and friendly
school. Our staff and governors work hard to ensure that our
children enjoy school and make good progress. We have separate
Nursery, Infant and Junior Departments with the advantage of
spacious buildings and only one class per year-group.
Children who start full-time
school in our Reception class enjoy a double-sized
classroom. They share a separate Infant building with just
the Year 1 and Year 2 children. Infant pupils also have
their own separate playground so it's a really cosy and
safe introduction to school.
We refer to our Infant
Department as the "smallest school in town".

We take full advantage of our larger
than average site to provide extra space and top quality
resources:-
- Four separate playgrounds for Nursery,
Infants, Year 3 / Year 4 and Year 5 / Year 6
- Two large halls for indoor PE and
activities
- A stage with lighting, sound and microphones
for assemblies, concerts and productions.
- A full-size Computer Suite with 30 children's
computers, a teacher's computer and a touch-screen interactive
whiteboard.
- There is also a smaller suite of computers in our
Community Suite plus an interactive whiteboard and
a mini-suite of computers in each classroom.
- A Media Suite/Studio where we prepare
programmes for our own TV Channel.
- A fantastic new sports facility - the MUGA
[Multi Use Games Area], which the children describe as
"awesome".
We would love to show
prospective parents around our school - please feel free to contact
us.
